The Changsha Customs Authority recently announced that, in the first
four months of this year, Hunan exported 15.2 billion CNY of high-tech
products, an increase of 43.7% compared with the same period last year.
Exports of high-end equipment products accounted for over 40% of the
total, with new materials and integrated circuits performing
prominently. In the first four months, Hunan exported 6.33 billion CNY
of high-end equipment products, up 14.3% and accounting for 41.7% of the
province's total high-tech product exports. During the same period,
exports of new materials reached 1.72 billion CNY, marking a 6.9-fold
increase. Exports of electronic information products reached 3.68
billion CNY, up 52.8%. In addition, exports of new energy vehicles
amounted to 1.34 billion CNY, growing 78.2%.
The EU and ASEAN were the main trading partners of Hunan. During the
January-April period, Hunan exported 2.96 billion CNY and 2.91 billion
CNY of high-tech products to the EU and ASEAN respectively, representing
increases of 90.9% and 69.6%. During the same period, exports to Hong
Kong SAR reached 1.88 billion CNY, up 76.5%; exports to South Korea
reached 1.38 billion CNY, rising by 100%; and exports to Malaysia
reached 890 million CNY with a 7-fold increase. Additionally, exports to
Bulgaria amounted to 790 million CNY, increasing by 99 times.
The Changsha Customs Authority explained that Bulgaria, as the EU's
southeast gateway and an Eastern European hub for energy storage and
electric vehicle assembly, provides the battery industry with
tariff-free access to the EU. Driven by the EU's green transition and
policy subsidies in recent years, its energy storage market has rapidly
expanded, making it one of the top three markets for Hunan's lithium
battery exports.
Eleven regions across Hunan saw positive growth, with the
Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan area maintaining a leading advantage. In the
first four months, except for Huaihua, Yueyang, and Zhangjiajie, all
other 10 cities and one autonomous prefecture across the province
achieved positive growth in high-tech product exports. The
Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan area collectively exported high-tech products
worth 13.25 billion CNY, accounting for 87.2% of the provincial total.
