Hunan's exports of construction machinery reached 13.22 billion CNY
in the first four months of this year, an increase of 18.2% year on
year. The province's exports to ASEAN grew 28.7% to 2.55 billion CNY,
said the Changsha Customs Authority on May 20, 2026.
The layout of overseas markets has been continuously optimized, with
both emerging and traditional markets driving growth. Traditional core
markets remain stable, with ASEAN continuing to be Hunan's largest
trading partner for construction machinery. Africa has emerged as a new
explosive growth pole, with Hunan's construction machinery exports to
Africa up 92.3% to 1.92 billion CNY. Among these, exports to Uganda,
Senegal, and Namibia achieved dramatic growth, surging 87.1 times, 44.1
times, and 37 times respectively.
Local private enterprises have been the main drivers of Hunan's
construction machinery exports, showing strong growth momentum. During
the January-April period, Hunan's private enterprises exported 11.81
billion CNY of construction machinery, a year-on-year increase of 42.1%
and accounting for 89.3% of the provincial total.
Main equipment categories sell well across the board, with segmented
categories seeing explosive growth. Hunan's exports of various major
construction equipment have steadily climbed. The exports of crawler
excavators rose 42.1% to 2.43 billion CNY, while products like mobile
forklifts, concrete mixer trucks, and pump trucks maintaining steady
growth. Segmented categories have shown rapid growth, with the export
growth rates of mining drills, self-propelled rock drills, and gantry
cranes surging 338.8%, 324.7%, and 287.5% respectively. Hunan has
demonstrated strong competitiveness in the construction machinery
sector.
