Haryono Lim, president and chairman of BASF Greater China, on July 29.
Vice Governor Yu welcomed Haryono Lim and his delegation. He pointed out
that Hunan is making every effort to build "three hubs." The province
has been attaching great importance to economic and trade cooperation
with Germany, improving the mechanisms for promoting investment and the
policies for attracting German investors. He expressed the hope that
both sides would work together to plan new projects in artificial
intelligence, advanced materials, and new energy, and to turn the BASF
Shanshan Battery Materials Co., Ltd. into a leading enterprise achieving
an annual output value of 10 billion CNY at an early date. He also
hoped to support the upgrading of BASF's battery materials R&D
center in Changsha into its global new materials R&D center, and to
bring in more German companies to invest in Hunan.
Haryono Lim thanked Hunan for its strong support, expressing firm
confidence in the Chinese market and Hunan's strengths in science,
technology, and talent. He stated that BASF would consolidate its
R&D and production capacity layout in China, aligning with Hunan in
its efforts, to explore cooperation in such areas as artificial

outcomes.
